Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Necessary To Take ValprolCR300 And Folmet Tests For Seizure Are Normal?
I am 22 years old and had first seizure arround 8 years ago. Took valprol cr 300 for 2 years and stopped it after getting normal eeg reports after doctors approval. Had second seizure of low intensity as per earlier one again after 8 years on february while doing intense exercise after a long time and since then had no seizure. Reports of eeg as well as ct scan are normal but still doctor prescribed to have valprol cr 300 and folmet for 5 more years. Is it necessary to have medicines after normal reports?? If it is so can t there be a faster recovery method rather than taking medicines for five years?please help me.
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that if you had any episode of seizure after stopping medication then ideally you should not stop medication. You can consult your treating neurologist for same.
Hopefully this information will guide you properly.
Kind Regards Dr Bhanu Partap
