Is It Normal For A 4 Month Old To Sleep For Longer Hours Having Ear Infection?
Hello, my child has been diagnosed with an ear infection and pink eye. She is 4 months old. Is it common for her to be sleeping more than usual? She has been sleeping a lot recently. She has slept through the night since 7 weeks but usually is up more during the day. Yesterday and today she s been asleep most of the day along with going down at 9:30 PM and not waking up until 10:30AM. She is now on amoxicillin and the eye drops for the pink eye. Just wondering if I should let her sleep or if I should try to keep her up.
Hello. I just read through your question. It is not unusual for children to sleep more during an illness. Even when appropriate treatment is started, it can take several days until their typical sleep patterns returns. If she is sleeping comfortably, even if it is more than usual, I recommend allowing to sleep.
