Is It Normal Not To Urinate For 15 To 20 Hours?

My husband had a stroke a couple of months ago, he only urinates once or twice some days, one day he did not urinate at all, he does drink water during the day, this really concerns me as he will go 15 to 20 hours without urinating. Last night he urinated at 5:33 P.M. and here it is 11:40 A.M. today and he hasn't gone to the bathroom yet. Is this normal?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. No, its abnormal.
2. Urine output should be regular unless an obstruction or urine output is very low due to reduced intake.
3. Match input with output for evaluation. If you are not sure, meet your doctor for further evaluation.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
