Is It Normal To Experience Pain In Abdomen During Baby Movement?
Hii doctor...I am in 7th month of pregnancy. I use to have lower abdomen pain during initial months of pregnancy but for small intervals. But right now I am experiencing pain in extreme right side of my abdomen portion (Space between stomach and back) from yesterday s afternoon and i am also experiencing pain in abdomen during baby movements. Please suggest what shall i do?
Many women experience hurt on baby movement especially when the baby has a foot or arm pressed against the ribs or abdomen. At seventh month or when the baby starts getting bigger it is natural to feel pain on the diaphragm, stomach, liver, intestine, etc. You may also experience backache. Your rib and pelvis may feel sore also. Take rest from time to time to ease discomfort.
Avoid doing any heavy work. If you feel the baby is making too much movements then it may be indicative that the baby may be in distress. Get clinically examined by your gynae, get fetal heart rate examination done. He may recommend USG (Uterus) to detect the well being of the fetus. You will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
