Is It Normal To Experience Soreness In Joints After A Fall?

I m a 42 y.o. average weight/height female. Yesterday morning I was standing on the side of my bathtub reaching up to the ceiling to clean it and fell forward into the tub along with the shower curtain rod. I hit my head pretty hard on the tub where it meets the wall. I have a large lump on the left side of my head along my hairline - it goes from above my mid-eyebrow all the way back to above my ear. I went to see dr yesterday to check for concussion - she said if I do have one it s very slight and would likely not show in scan. I had a headache yesterday, but it seems to be better today after rest and cold pack yesterday. Of course, all of my other injuries can be felt today. I noticed I have a bruise on the top of my head, I bruised both my shins and left knee, also. My lower back is sore (I have 2 bulging discs in my lower back), my left hip/pelvis and buttock are also pretty sore, too. I also seem to have a bit of pain along my back upper ribs and my sternum feels tight. I went back to work today and seem to be a bit light sensitive and my joints are all pretty sore. Does this soreness sound usual for such a fall (I ve never done this before) or should I go in to urgent care today to check a bit more in depth on my head/back/hip injuries?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The lump formation after injury is due to accumulation of fluid & blood and it is called Hematoma.
The blood cells accumulated are eventually broken down and absorbed in the body.
But this is a slow process & takes times to disappear completely.
Till that time, symptomatic relief is obtained by analgesic preparations like Diclofenac+ Serratiopeptidase (to be taken after meals), ice compression, application of analgesic+ muscle relaxant gel & adequate rest.

If symptoms still persist, kindly consult an Orthopedician for proper clinical examination.
X ray of the affected joints will be helpful to rule out any fracture or other pathological causes.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Take care.
