Is It Normal To Gave Congestion After Having Adenoids Removed?

My daugter had her adenoids removed a week ago and now has mucus that drains from her nose and turns into a hard crust. She also has a white thick looking mucus deep in each nostril and still sounds very congested. Is all of this normal post surgery?
