Is It Normal To Get Fever After An Accident?

My husband was in a motorcycle accident yesterday and went to urgent care for an ankle injury. At the time his temperature was reading 98.8 but his normal body temperature ranges between 96.7 to 97.4. Currently now, he seems to be running a fever. Though I can t locate a thermometer to check. But is it normal to run a fever after an accident?

i have gone through your query and being your doctor I completely understand your health concerns...
Are your husband injured?? Any wound?? Well it depends upon the severity if injury... Severe injuries does provokes inflammatory response in body as a consequence the pt. Develop revere.
Your husband body temperature should be checked by thermometer before embarking any diagnosis....
Meanwhile I advise him to take rest and take some painkillers. If there is any round proper dressing should be done...
