Is It Normal To Get Swollen Belly After A Blood Transfusion?
my fiance just got released from the hospital after a 3 day stay. He was severley anemic and had to recieve a blood transfusion and was on iv fluids for the whole time. He was also detoxing from alcohol use. his belly is really swollen, is that normal
I am so sorry to hear about about your fiance's illness. This is not a normal finding and not caused by blood transfusion. The various conditions that led to this anemia may be responsible for this observation. Please, ask her doctors what the cause of this is as it is not due to anemia and blood transfusion. Also, what caused her anemia and what is the plan? This may be a more likely cause of her symptoms.
I hope this helps. I wish your fiance well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
