Is It Normal To Have A Hole At The Site Of A Double Mastectomy Surgery?
My sister, age 69, had a double mastectomy two months ago. She still has a hole about the size of a golf ball through which she can see her chest wall. She visited the surgeon last week and was told the hole would close up. She worries because the edges have flapped inward and are attaching to the chest wall. Is this normal? Should she seek a second opinion?
As per your history is concerned the surgical drains will remain in place for five to seven days so nothing to be worried it is a part of recovery. After drain removes it will heal automatically. Thanks
