Hi,
The usual blood tests advised to determine the
menopause are FSH and
estrogen levels. Usually, FSH rises and estrogen decreases in menopause, but these can be seen in perimenopausal period also. So sometimes menstrual cycles for brief period can be seen even with this
hormonal results.
Mirena is progesterone containing IUCD. When it is removed it will have withdrawal effect on endometrium, may be because of that you are having heavy withdrawal bleeding. But as again after two weeks you are having the same problem, please consult your Gynecologist once, get examined and go for
ultrasound.
If the endometrial thickness is normal for your age, you can take anti fibrinolytic drugs and
progesterone tablets, which can help to control the bleeding and gradually menstrual cycles may get stopped.
If the endometrial thickness is more, better to go for Dilatation and Curettage, to find out the possible cause. This can help for diagnostic and therapeutic purpose also, menopause may follow D&C. Depending on the histopathology report further treatment can be planned.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
