Is It Normal To Have An Itchy Throat After Getting Tonsils Removed?
My 6 year old daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed 19 days ago and has had a textbook recovery. Today she said that her throat was feeling itchy, like it did when she still had her tonsils. I had a look and could see what looks like a bruise towards the rear of the roof of her mouth. Are these normal post-operative issues? I did google for answers but most articles are about immediate post-operative issues.

Itchy throat 19 days after surgery could not be a post operative issue.
But it may be due to congestion because of local irritation due to infection.
If the pain or itchy sensation persists, consult the doctor for examination.
