General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the intrauterine device insertion is routinely responsible for the variable amount of menses which may be menorrhagia type or inter-menstrual bleed as well.

It usually takes a period of one menstrual cycle for the body system to accommodate to this new device, and if persistent beyond that period, consult your OBGYN.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
