hello doctors i hav been having a foul fish smell for the past 2 years now. and it smell all the time 24/7 especially when i sweat or when im hot. i shower 3 to 4 times a day and still no change. at first i thought i had tmau Trimethylaminuria disorder but when i went to the doctor and he test me and told me i had nothing wrong with me. and i even started taking the medication for tmau think the doctor was wrong but still nothing. is there anything else i can do? is this normal? what should i do?
Dear foul smell body odor may due excess aweating cause bacteria over growth that may lead to bad smell. Excessive salt and aminno acid in the sweat break down by bacteria produce propionic acid and valaric acid cause sweating. It can be treated with Wash daily with warm water, Clothing with natural fibers allow your skin to breathe, resulting in better evaporation of sweat. Avoid spicy foods like curry, garlic and some other spicy foods have the potential to make some people's sweat more pungent . you can use aluminum hydroxide as a anti perspirant under the guidance of doctor. If your symptoms not improved consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
