Is It Normal To Have Numbness Around The Staples In The Head?

on saturday morning i fell down about 8 stairs and knocked myself out briefly and cut the back of my head open. i got 6 staples in the back of my head and now the area round my staples feels quite numb to the touch. is that normal? i am 29 years old about 5'8" and 12 stone.i was drunk when i fell down stairs and spent night in hospital
