Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
we just got back from a doctor to check his ears...my husband said it hurt real bad and his ear was bleeding. he gave a prescription for ear drops...but said he could buy them over the counter. is it usual for his ear to bleed? he is having all of these tests so he can have his eyes worked on for cateracics.
It is not usual for the ear to bleed after an ear examination unless if there was trauma or an existing ear condition that has been provoked by introduction of the examination instrument. You should get the medication indicated by your doctor and if within a few hours to days, your husband still has ear bleeding and pain then it is best you get back to him/her soonest for reevaluation.
Best wishes.
