Is It Normal To Have Severe Pain During Urination After Stent Placement?
My husband just had stents placed after a removal of a tumor in his bladder. He is experiencing pain before urination, this post surgery day 1. The pain doubles him over and he has little to no control on his urination. The MD gave him hydro condone for relief , but no refill and will last only over this weekend as he is taking 1 q 4 hrs. Is this expected? What can he do to help with the pain?
Most people with stents have these symptoms which are sometimes severe. This is likely to get better with time but occasionally patients have to have their stents removed early if the condition permits and if symptoms are very severe.
