Is It Normal To Have Short Period After Taking I Pill After Unprotected Sex?
i had sex for the first time on the 3rd of jan without protection. i took an i pill the same evening within 10 hours. i got my period 5 days after taking the pill but it only lasted 3 days instead of five. is this normal? my doctor advised me to take my birth control tablets on the second day of my period. my period started on the 8th so i started taking the pills on the 9th. my period came 9 days early. my last cycle dates were 15th - 19th december. is this normal ? i am currently on birth control since the 9th of january.
I am so sorry to hear about this shorten length of menstruation. Though not the typical 5days you always get, 3days is considered normal. In most persons, the Ipill causes hormonal imbalances which can result in subtle changes to the menstrual cycle without any disease significance. This is normal.
I a happy to know yu are now on the pill for contraception. Keep up and ake sure you use it as instructed for best results. Remember condoms protect against STDs in addition to pregnancy, I will strongly recommend you always consider using it.
