Is It Normal To Have Slight Vaginal Bleeding Post First Beta Hcg Injection?

Hi, i had my 1st beta hcg injection last tuesday as what my doctor recommend to help implantation. I still have 4 more weekly injections to go. I m just worried as i m having slight vaginal bleeding from light brown to dark brown. Is it normal? Should i be worried of something? By the way, does the hcg injection really helps for implantation? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

After an injection of hCG, follicle rupture occurs from 36 to 48 hours later, following which the ovum gets released. Hence, HCG is useful in causing ovulation and implantation. This drug may not cause vaginal bleeding.

Mild bleeding or spotting is possible during implantation.Continue with Hcg injection and follow up with your doctor regarding your follicular study.I would also suggest you to check your estradiol and LH levels.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
