Is It Normal To Have Sore Throat While Suffering From Chickenpox?

15 year old daughter, had chicken pox a age 2. Has developed spots all over body that are similar to early stage chicken pox, but not blistered. They appear brighter red in sunlight and fade to barely noticeable when indoors. Minor sore throat, no other symptoms. Doctors office is closed until Monday.

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The sore throat during chicken pox is quite common because of the involvemnet of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa by the virus. Nothing to be panic, you can take symptomatic treatment like topical anesthetics like lignocaine and topical analgesics like choline salicylate. It will subside in 5 days. Do saline gargling.
I hope I have answered your query. Take care.
