Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Normal To See Eye Floater After Cataract Surgery?
I have an eye floater after cataract surgery; most importantly with the floater is a trailing light foggy substance that interfers with my eye sight. Is there anything medically that can eradicate this substance and allow the floater to pass with time?
After cataract surgery, patients may complain of eye floaters interfering with their vision. Commonly it gets better on its own after a few weeks or months, it varies with patients. Some recover faster than the others. If not the patient should report to the treating surgeon so that follow up clinical examination and further management can be done.
Due to surgery sometimes, the posterior vitreous detachment occurs, where the vitreous separates from the retina and hence the vision problem arises. The doctor may recommend repeat surgery. Success and recovery may vary from patient to patient.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
