Is It Normal To Vomit Dark Brownish Liquid Post Alcohol Consumption?

My friend drank vodka, and I ve been helping her out. She s breathing okay and everything, she s just really drunk. I finally got her to drink some water, and she puked a brown to darkish brown color. Is that normal after drinking a good amount of vodka?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query your friend has symptoms of vomit dark brownish liquid post alcohol consumption which is due to alcohol poisoning. Alcohol excessive leads to stomach ulcer and gastritis which in turn leads to esophageal ulceration as well due to which dark brownish color vomit occurs. Need not to worry about it. Give intravenous fluids to your friend as chances of dehydration are very high. Drink plenty of water. Symptoms will resolve with in 1-2 days. If symptoms of vomiting keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and go for endoscopy.
