Is It Not Safe To Consume Alka-Seltzer Mixed With Little Water?

I had a very dear close friend that I found deceased three weeks past.I am still very hurt and distraught.I saw a juice glass and two packets of ALKASELTZER that he had consumed on the table.Apparently he did not use enough water for the ALKASELTZER and did not read the Warning Label.Unfortunately he did have cardiovascular problems,hypertension and annorexia nevosa.I am not aware of the amount of sodium and warning lables on ALKASELTZER.I see that he should have not taken this type of over the counter drug.

Hello,

Since he had two empty packets of Alka-Seltzer left on the table that he had consumed may be indicative that he was having some discomfort or chest pain. To get relieve he had taken it when he should have been rushed to ER or hospital or rang 911(emergency number) for help. There are times when people fail to understand the urgency of medical aid / support they might need. It is not very easy to understand certain things.

Sometimes MI (Myocardial infarction) is confused with gastritis or acid reflux or chest discomfort) and things get fatal before anything can be done. There are certain medications that should not be taken with Alka - Seltzer like NSAIDS or Anticoagulants, etc. He was already having a history of Cardiovascular problems, hypertension which are indicative of CAD. Medicines should always be taken as instructed. Over doses should never be taken.
