Is It Okay For A Survivor Of Hodgkin Lymphoma To Work With Dichloromethane?
Hi, My name is Katie. I am a undergraduate biochemistry student and I am going to be working with the carcinogenic chemical dichloromethane. I am a 10 year survivor of Hodgkin Lymphoma stage II/III. I had no complications with my treatment except a low white blood cell count which was treated with Nupagen shots once a day. Received ABVD chemotherapy and radiation to chest and neck area. I am on no medications now and have had no relapse. My question: is it okay for me to work with dichloromethane considering my health history? We will be working with it under a hood in small quantities. Thank you for your help.
I sugest that you should avoid contact with carcinogenic chemicals, because your medical history is positive for maliancy, and this make me sugest that you are more sensitive to risk factors such dichloromethane!
