Is It Okay To Fly In Plane With Floaters In Eye?

I was hit by a tennis ball in the eye 6 days ago. I've had extensive examinations because floaters have appeared and the retina is thin in this eye. There is no retinal tear at present though. Please could you tell me if I can fly to from the UK to Canada on 2nd June?My age is 57, my weight 12 stone and my height 6 foot. No major problems with health in the past; tonsilectomy at age of 8 ; take St John's Wort but nothing else. Thank you - Lindsay Gray (Mr.)

Flying is restricted in patients operated for detachment especially if expandable intraocular gas is used.

Like you mentioned that you have been thorough evaluated with no retinal tear but thinning of retinal. Thinning of peripheral retina is common with age and high power. Floaters are sign of vitreous degeneration which can start after trauma and also aging.

Hence there no risk for you as have untouched eye for surgery and no retinal detachment.

And i hope you are evaluated for fractures around eye with and abnormal opening of sinuses.

Yes you can fly, risk is minimal.
