Hi. welcome to HCM. Tdap is a "3-in-1" vaccine that protects against diphtheria, tetanus (lockjaw), and pertussis (whooping cough). The Tdap vaccine is made from dead (inactivated) bacteria. So the vaccine will not make a person sick from the diseases they are protecting against. Adults 19 years or older need a booster shot of Td every 10 years. It is recommended that adults should take this vaccine every 10 years. But do remember that there is no harm if u got the shots twice in a year. U are most likely will just get better antibody levels (more protection).Maybe the second shot can lead to more temporary soreness at the shot site in the arm, but many people have little or no soreness at all after shots. So dont get tensed. All the best.
