Is It Okay To Use Melacare During Pregnancy?

Hi Sir,

I am 5 months pregnant with my 1st baby, is it safe to use Melacare during this period as I was using from last one yr in every alternate days. Please let me know. I am 27yrs old having weight 52KG and I am 5'2". Please suggest!

Hi Indira,
This is Dr. Sridhar here and I shall be answering your question.

Melacare is a cream containing the following:
-hydroquine
-mometasone
-tretinoin

It contains steroids, which is likely to have a harmful effect on your baby. Kindly stop using the cream till you have delivered.

Since you have used till now (5 months), I'd suggest to visit your gynaecologist to check whether it had any bad effect till now.
