Is It Possible That Glycomet Taken 1 Mg Has No Effect On Sugar Levels?
Is it possible that Glycomet 1gm dose may not work for few? My dad was using glycophage 500mg SR earlier and his fasting sugar level was under control. Since 1 month his doc changed it to glycomet 1gm SR and his reading fasting sugar level is 160...not sure what s going on...
Yes, it is possible that Glycomet 1gm dose may not work for a few people. However, if your doctor has changed the medication for your dad, then he must stick to it. The high reading of FBS of 160 could be due to the fact that there was no proper overnight fasting or your dad must have had some sugar before the test.
In my opinion, I would suggest that your dad continues to take Glycomet 1gm dose for another 2 weeks, repeat the FBS and PPBS test and check the levels. If it is still high, may be you can discuss with his treating doctor about changing the medication or increasing the dose.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
