Is It Possible That Gabapentin Taken For Hyperthyroidism And Muscle Pain Lead To Irregular Heartbeat?
Hi doc,i was diagnose to have a hyperthyroid and soon to have a radioiodine but for the meantime my doctor give me some medication because I can t sleep and had some muscle pain around my left shoulder that I could hardly sleep at night its like a numb pain that bother me so much some trmors so my doctor give this medication arthnote 75mg OD,gabapentin 300my OD,and teva- propranolol 20mg TID but I also experiencing some irregular heart beat and I feel tired.with these medication I was taking does one of them contribute to this irregular heart beat do I need to stop one of these medication.Thank you for your help.
Thanks. I highly suspect that you are experiencing atrial fibrillation due to the thyroid problem; usually in these cases we use propranolol at a good dose to supress the tremors and slow down the heart; things usually settle down as the thyroid issue abates but you may want to see a cardiologist for titration of the propranolol.
Hope this helps, wish you the best,
