Is It Possible To Conceive While Taking Thyronorm?
Hi I am a 31yrs old married female. My gynaecologist prescribed me to thyronorm 25mcg when I went to her for fertility profiling. Except for slightly low TSH everything else was good. Will I have difficulty conceiving while I am still taking this medicine? My husbands fertility tests have also come normal.
Thyroid dysfunction could cause a delay in conceiving. Hence, thyroid hormone supplementation can help in overcoming the deficiency and improve the chances of conceiving.
It would take about 6 months for the thyroid functions to normalise. Kindly take the medications as prescribed and do the necessary follow-up with your doctor as advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
