Is It Possible To Get Pregnant With Mirena Insertion Intact?

How likely is it that I could fall pregnant with the Merina inserted. Has been in since April 2014, was getting regular 7-12 spotting until just recently. Now nothing, plus I have massive appetite and dizzy spells. Limited breast tenderness, lots of flatulence, mood swings, no pain etc.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Even though Mirena insertion is a very reliable method of contraception, it is said to have a failure rate of 0.2% in the first year and a cumulative rate of 0.7% after 5 years. This implies that the chances of you being pregnant are too slim.Different medical conditions can give you the symptoms you are presenting not only pregnancy.I will advise you get a pregnancy test.If it comes negative, you see a Doctor to investigate the cause of the symptoms you are presenting if they persist. If positive, you see your Gynecologist for the next step to take.
Hope my answer will help you.
Best regards
