Is It Possible To Have PID Inspite Of Having Chlamydia Infection?

Enter your medical question in this boxhi, i went to the doctors last week and have just had some swab results back that came back qwith thrush and chlymydia ... i have got to go and pick up the presciption but as iv been looking it up on the internet i have seen that that PID is common in women who have chlymydia, i seem to be showing some of the symptoms of it although not sure if they are linking symptoms from the chlymydia, would they have tested for PID when they sent away the swabs ??? thanks

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) is infection of the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries.

Chlamydia is one of the bacteria that is associated with causing PID. If you had PID due to chlamydia , then using the medication given for the chlamydia would have treated the PID.

The swabs would have tested for the bacteria that could cause PID or other genital infections.

I hope this helps
