Is It Possible To Have Lost The Baby If Dosage Of Benicar Was Less?

I am a 37 year old female and I just found out last night i am four weeks pregnant. I'm on Benicar 40 mg for hypertension but i have not been taking my medication as directed. Today, was the first day in about 2 weeks that i took one because I felt as if my blood pressure was a bit High. Is it possible for me to lose the baby or any complications if i had taken one tablet? Should i discontinue this medicine altogether. Please, advise.

Hi,

Benicar is contraindicated in pregnancy. It can cause fetal malformation but not abortion. I advise you to discontinue it during your pregnancy. Consult a local OBG/GYN, get your blood pressure checked and blood work done. Your doctor will prescribe you a safer medicine.

Do consider a positive feedback as a credit to my work. Let me know if you have any further questions.
