Is It Possible To Survive With 70% Damaged Kidney?

hi I am Dharma,My grand mother age of 63 yrs is suffering from kidney problem. Doctors have told already 70% of kidney has been damaged and also having diabetics .She is admitted in hospital at kolkata.Might it be recover ? If yes then tell me what should we do and tell who and where is the best treatment is going on for kidney. Please suggest me.

Hi drama... Recovery of Kidney function depends on the nature of disease.. If the kidney injury is due to an acute cause like infection, dehydration, drugs then it is reversible... If it's in slow ongoing process like in diabetes and hypertension then most often it is not reversible.. You have not mentioned about what was her previous kidney function so difficult to tell whether it's reversible or not...
