Is It Possible To Transmit STD From Unprotected Homosexual Anal Sex?
Is it possible to contract STD s from unprotected homosexual anal or oral sex from someone who doesn t have it. My partner tells me that we could attract STD s because the particles of the virus are in the air. Just want to know more about this. Thank you

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
STDs are the diseases contacted during sex act through mucus membrane. Hence, if either of partners have STD. It is bound to transmit it to non-infected person. Viral STDs like human papilloma virus again pass via mucus membrane during intercourse. Therefore, even homosexual anal or mouth sex is also liable to give STD infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
