Is It Required To Take Folic Acid Medicine For Pcod And Irregular Periods?
hello doc................am 31yrs old......................having pcod and irregular periods................my gyn suggested me to take glycomet sr 850 mg and ovacet tabs..................just want to ask do i need to continue taking folic acid tablets also?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Usually Folic acid tablets are prescribed around 1 to 3 months before planning for pregnancy. So if you are planning for pregnancy along with the treatment of PCOD, you can take Folic acid tablets. If you are concerned only with the treatment of PCOD the medicines prescribed by your doctor is sufficient and no need to take additional Folic acid tablets.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
