Is It Risky For A Liver To Grow 8mm In Size?

My Dad is perfectly healthy and he never drinks. He is Admittedly obese. There are not really very many family problems dealing with liver, only that his dad died of liver failure in his late 70s. Now my dads liver had grown 8mm in size. Is this a cause for worry?

hi,
if you really mean 8 mm (not 8 cm right?), there is nothing to worry as it is negligible. obese people can have obese liver as well, and hence not a concern for liver disease. It is ideal to reduce weight which promotes regression of fatty liver, even if he seems in health and has no liver disease at present.
All the best.
