Is It Safe For My Partner With Cirrhosis And Esophageal Varices To Fly Before His Banding Procedure, Considering The Risk Of Bleeding?

Hi my partner has cirrhosis and grade 2 esophageal varices recently diagnosed through endoscopy. He was given medication to reduce blood pressure but had to stop it as it was making blood pressure too low. He is now awaiting appointment to have varices banded. We were due to fly in next couple of weeks is this unadvisable due to pressure and varices possibly bleeding in flight? Thanks
