Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. The medications like rifampicin, isoniazid, ethambutol and pyrazinamide have not been shown to be associated with any fetal congenital malformations when used during pregnancy and hence are considered safe. Streptomycin should not be used. Vaccination should not be given. Hepatic function should be carefully monitored and nutritional supplements amply prescribed to avoid peripheral neuritis. In this scenario, please discuss with your consultant as to the safety of continuing with the pregnancy as the treatment of the disease is also essential and if she needs teratogeneic medication, she cannot continue with the pregnancy. Hope your query has been clarified. Take care.
