Is It Safe To Continue Taking Cerophene To Induce Ovulation?
Hello I am Hifza. My wedding passed about 7 months ago and I did not conceive yet. My gyn did an internal ultrasound and I was told that I had PCOS. I had amenorrhoea twice in the passed 7 months. I reduced my weight and took much liquids, juices and milk. For amenorrhoea I took 2 Duphaston for 7 days and got periods. As per the prescription I am taking cerophene for ovulation. I want an advise about my medication if going on the right track? Thanks, Hifza

HI, I understand your concern. PCOS is a problem where is the ovulation is hampered, the mature ova collect in ovary -thus increasing ovarian size. menses are irregular & pregnancy is not possible in absence of ovulation. In this condition usually medicine for stimulating ovulation along with weight reduction is given as first line of treatment.Cerophene is ovulation stimulator, you can continue with it even after marriage. BUt try to use some contraceptive till natural ovulation starts.( as Cerophene can induce more than one ova to be matured & liberated& this may cause twins/ triplet pregnancy. You should be under care of a gynecologist while taking treatment for PCOS. Thanks.
