I m 50 yr old, good overall health and fit, but high myopia, have had surgery for retinal detachment, and pdt for cnv, and, more recently (3 months ago), vitrectomy for foveochisis and macular hole (in formation). Have had two spots of blood on retina. They are now going away. How careful should I be about the dangers of exercise to my eyes? Thank you.
Hello It seems from the history that you are having high myopia, had undergone for retinal detachment. Since you are having multiple retinal problems you should put undue exertion on the body and eyes. Hence it is better to avoid running, jumping, weight lifting... Exertion can lead to retinal hemorrhages, hence it is better to avoid exercises which require effort and exertion.
Thank you
