Is It Safe To Give Diof For Child Suffering From Loose Motions?

Hello, My baby is 3 years n 2 months old. Since 3 days he is having loose motions . I am giving him Pedialite ors n Ecobian BC but still he is having motions. Can I start Diof for him n what should b dosage n is it safe to give Diof? Please advice. Regards

Hello,
Thanks for the concern. Your baby has loose motions since three days. For that you can start Diof which contains Ofloxacin. It should be taken as 5ml twice daily for atleast 5 days.
Also you can give enterogerminia liquid thrice daily for 3 days which will help to maintain the intestinal flora and continue giving ORS untill diarrhoea stops. Avoid heavy and oily diet and give soft diets with lots of curd.
Consult your paediatrician and start treatment accordingly. Hope this might help you. Take care
