Is It Safe To Give Miralax For Constipation In Children?

My daughter has issues with constipation and is on miralax. Sometimes when she get a little backed up she seems to get a low grade fever and headaches. I have mentioned this to the pediatrician and they act like I am nuts, that they are not related. Could it be? Should she see someone?

Hi,

These r not indicated for children less than 2 years. These are given for less than 1 week. Proper hydration should be maintained. If she has fever and if I was treating her I will go for these lab tests:
a] CBC
b] Complete stool examination

Yes, of course, opinion of other pediatrician faculty can be taken, if you are not satisfied. Few generalized things I will suggest are, if she is more than 8 years old, join her in online yoga, breathing course of art of living. This seems to help healing and prevent long term relapse, it will also tell her daily routine tips, diet and many factors.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
