Is It Safe To Give Saline Gel For Nose Bleed And Dizziness In Children?
My daughter (age 14) has recently started having nose bleeds almost daily for the last week and a half to two weeks. Her pediatrician suggested Saline Gel and created a referral (at my request) to have her see an ENT.My concern is that these nose bleeds are out of the ordinary, they are heavy to the point where she is light headed afterwards and they last anywhere from 3-20 minutes. They end with a large blood clot that comes out of her nose and is always followed by a headache.....I m nervous.
As per my clinical experience, there can be various disorders responsible for the nose bleed with dizziness in child as: - Idiopathic - Coagulation disorders of platelets, clotting factors - Vitamin C deficiency - Pressure changes involving blood vessels supplying nasal septum - Central nervous system issue related
Till the final diagnosis with battery of reports are available, use of saline gel will relieve best way.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
