Is It Safe To Give Vyvanse To Improve Attention And Focus In Children?

My son is in 10th grade and his grades are steadily declining and teachers are saying he doesnt focus and has trouble keeping his attention. I want to know if Vyvanse would be good for him and if I can get it online of if I have to go my family doctor to ask him?

I can understand your concern. Your son is in 10th grade and have poor focus, his grades are declining progressively and these symptoms should be evaluated properly. If possible visit a child psychiatrist for his evaluation. Depression, attention deficit disorders, anxiety, learning disorders etc are common possible reasons for such symptoms. So proper evaluation is needed to make proper diagnosis.

If his symptoms are occurring due to attention deficit then stimulants can help. Vyvanse is a stimulant drug consisting of Lisdesamfetamine and the drug is similar to amphetamine drugs. The drug should be used with proper prescription only. The drug has high abuse potential so please give him the drug under proper supervision only that too in prescribed doses. The drug is not available online as its a controlled substance. Visit a doctor for evaluation and prescription of the drug.
