Is It Safe To Give Zarontin And Tylenol For Absence Seizures In Children?

My daughter is 6 and was recently diagnosed with Absence Seizures. We started the generic form of Zarontin this weekend. Without even thinking, I gave her some children's tylenol b/c she's been fighting a head cold for a few days now. I see on here that these 2 drugs should not be mixed....what do I do?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Zerontin is Ethosuximide and the drug is most commonly used drug for absence seizures (Petitmal seizures). The drug is safe to use in children and has been approved for use in absence seizures. Tylenol is Acetaminophen or Paracetamol. The drug is an antipyretic drug. The drug is a safe drug for fever and cold conditions. Both drugs can be used together without any fear. There are no significant interactions between. No need to worry. Consult her doctor before making any dose adjustments.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
