Is It Safe To Give Products Which Causes Allergy In A Child To Develop Immunity?

My little boy age 1.5 years old, had and stil has a very big allergy on some products. I still give them to him, as I would like his organism to get used to them. Am I doing right? Or should I give to him the products that are not giving him an alergy, and for those that give him allergy to delay to 2-3 years old. Waiting for your reply me back. Sincerely, Olga

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thank you for your question.
It is best not to give him the products that he is allergic to. When allergies are flared up the immune system does not work as well and he is at risk for infections. If you want him to tolerate those products you need to take him to an allergist and have them desensitize him. This is not a good idea to do at home.
