Is It Safe To Have Betnesol Injection During Pregnancy?
Hello Doctor, My wife has completed 35 weeks of pregnancy. She has posterior wall fibroid 8cm x 7 cm long. Gynae has prescribed Betnesol (12mg) injection. Please advise, if this inection is safe and if it leads to learning and development problems for the baby later on. Also, is the posterior fibroid of concern..

I understand your concern.
-The fact that your doctor has advised betnasol ( 12mg) to your wife, he must be doing so to avoid preterm birth of your baby.
-Betnasol improves breathing in new born, it is known to reduce glucose level in new born( which can be replaced)
- There are no sufficient proofs for learning disabilities in baby,after mother being given Injection betnasol .
Please don't worry, have faith in your doctor/ have second opinion of some expert to satisfy your tension.
