Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Safe To Have Topcef And Cetzine During Pregnancy?
Hai doctor, i am 27y yrs. Now i am 11 weeks pregnant and its my first pregnancy. I am suffering from dry cough. Gynocologist prescribed Topcef 200mg (1-0-1), Bicosules capsule (1-0-0), cetzine 10mg (0-0-1), Ranitin 150 (1-0-1). Is it safe to use it in pregnancy. Is it any side effects for baby.
I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions. Topcef is cephalosporin, relatively safe when used during pregnancy. However the dosage, the duration of treatment and the indication for it's usage should be proper. Unless you are hypersensitive to cephalosporin/penicillin it should not be a problem. First gen antihistamines are relatively safe in pregnancy.
The agents prescribe by your doctor are safe, but i advice you take them as prescribed by you doctor and for the duration which is been prescribed. I advice you not to take any medication without consulting doctor during pregnancy.
Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.
Sincerely
