Is It Safe To Have Sex After Taking Meprate While Still Waiting For Periods?
Hello doctor. I completed meprate tablet course of 5 days twice a day 2 days ago. I still have not got my periods. I have been told to wait 7-10 days for that. So before I get my periods, can I have protected sex? Is it safe to have sex after taking meprate but still waiting for periods.
Since you have not got periods yet, it is better to wait for withdrawal bleeding. Once you get periods you can switch to regular contraceptive pills or get implant to prevent pregnancy. You can have protected sex but before that get a pregnancy test done to confirm that you are not pregnant.
In case of tear or breaking of condom you will have to take emergency contraceptive pills within 72 hours of unprotected sex. Emergency contraceptive pills may have side effects like hormonal imbalance, irregular menstruation, spotting, scanty periods, delayed periods, cessation of periods, etc. Take home-made, balanced diet rich in iron and high in protein.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
