Is It Safe To Remove Ovarian Cyst Surgically During Pregnancy?

i am 15wks pregnant and during ultrasound, endometrioma was found in the left ovary, measuring 6.7x6.5x4.2cm. I will travel abroad to work again as a nurse. The doctor prescribed me duphaston and duvadilan both 3 times a day until I return after 3 months. The doctor said she will perform the surgery to remove the cyst and worst do oopherectomy of my left ovary. with this size of cyst is it wise to have it surgically removed ? Is it safe for my baby? This is my first pregnancy and I am 33 yrs old. Thank you.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Endometrioma will have to be removed surgically with cystectomy or oophorectomy. Removal of one ovary will not have any major impact since the other ovary will be secreting the hormones.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
